I fell in love

This past weekend my son gave me a present I enjoyed very much.He asked for his dads help with driving the John Deer tractor he rented and I JUMPED at the chance.I did get a bit wore out but it was worth it as we got the front yard ready for the next stage in this new house.I had my new trailer done so I brought the little tractor I own with me and we did the finish work with mine. But I fell in love with that Deer and if I was younger I would have one of thoes and do custom work. Here is a few pics of the work and the house .by the way I now know and understand Stone Hinge they did it to get thoes rocks out of their garden.........Craftywulf

Some of our handy work on quackflat

Here are some of the flowers we have growing here in the new gardens.I was surprised this spring when we found the California poppies coming up as I did not plant them but the seeds found their way to the garden. The bench and flowers are one of the places we like to sit and have a cup of coffee and take in the ferns and spring flowers. In the back yard we have what I call pin wheels now this is not the right name but I like the name.We have some four hundred feet of side walk that takes you around the gardens and in a walk we take at least once a day

busy times at quackflat

This is some of the the gardens we have been working on and now as spring is here we see the beauty of Gods handy work. The onions and potatoes are in the ground and today I built another raised bed for the tomatoes and other things we will need this summer to keep our prices down and good down home cooked food.I have found the things I grow taste better and the best part is the fun of watching them grow until they are ready to eat.Well the next project will be working on the new chicken pen and getting some little chicks.I have always wanted to do this since I was living here because when I was a little lad we always had chickens and I enjoyed them so much.

Gold on the American

One of the things we have in the gold country is yes gold and we enjoy trying our best to find it where ever it hides. This is the north fork of the American just out of Colfax California and the real gold is the beautiful scenery and beautiful river winding through the canyon.I do not think theirs any thing that is as exciting as seeing gold in your pan .I have not been up on the river this year because I have been just way to busy keeping flat quack in shape.

Grettings from quack flat

I have been very busy the past few weeks but I enjoy keeping busy and even out of trouble at times.I found this fifth wheel trailer on craigslist a month back and have been busy taking it apart peace by peace.I needed a trailer for my tractor and mower and I put my crafty skills to work transforming this unwanted trailer into something I can use. With all the scrap I got off this trailer I have a nice trailer for my tractor and it has not cost me a dime.
